Градина представља вишеслојно праисторијско насеље које је егзистирало у континуитету око 3,5 миленијума, од неолита до доласка Римљана у ове крајеве и један је од најзначајних археолошких локалитета за проучавање старијег гвозденог доба у нашој земљи. Културни слојеви на њему премашују висину од 7 м. Најстарије насеље на Градини припада сопотско-ленђелској култури из периода млађег каменог доба, затим следе енеолит са Болерас – Чернавода III, рана бронза са винковачком културом уз повремене продоре инкрустоване керамике и културе Белегиш – Гава II. Периоду старијег гвозденог доба припада моћан културни слој чија дебљина износи 3.15 метара са десет стамбених хоризоната и више фаза обнављања.
